South Ribble Parliamentary Candidate

Campaigns
Lorraine and the South Ribble Conservatives are engaged in a number of campaigns to help improve and protect the residents whom she hopes to represent in Parliament.
Lorraine works closely with the Conservative councillors on West Lancs, Chorley and South Ribble Councils to challenge the failings of the Labour Government.
Amongst the biggest local campaigns, Lorraine has been involved with recently are:
• Fighting local hospital mergers – the proposal to merge the Southport and Ormskirk Hospital Trust with Merseyside Hospital Trusts.
• Fighting the proposal to merge Lancashire Police with Cumbria Police, without any reasonable justification and of no benefit to the people of South Ribble and Lancashire.
• Fighting the increasing regionalisation of local services – such as the fire service, ambulance service and the police.
• Campaigning for the “Green Lane Link” road in Tarleton to enable our local growers and horticulture businesses to move their produce to market via the main highway network and considerably reduced heavy goods vehicles from local villages and improve the road safety at nearby schools.
• Fighting the proposal to merge South Ribble and Preston councils into a new City of Preston Council.
Lorraine will be reaching out to local community groups and organisations in the coming months and years, and is keen to include local people’s views in the Party’s Policy Review process.
